When your ill/sick whatever, do you go through the delema of deciding if your too sick to work? "I do feel crapy but I can work through it." "I want to go to work but I don't want to risk getting someone else sick." "I really need to work I can't afford to miss any days." Yeah I'm sick at the moment and I don't think anyone really likes being sick. What I also don't like is going through that whole conflict a few hours before I work trying to decide if I should go in or call out. I'm I alone on this? How do you take it?

It depends on what you do for a job. Who wants a sick waitress serving their food? If some otc drugs make you feel good enough to get out the door and actually acheive something at work, then fine. If you work closely with others, and could possibly get them sick or your customers sick, why bother? If you cannot seem to clear your head, you are dangerous at work or driving, stay at home. I work in a bank, people don't want me getting germs all over their cash, or sniffling and coughing in a small office in the middle of opening an account (very unprofessional). Some consider it selfish to go in to get paid, think of all the others who may have to now take time off, or spread it to their families as well!

The wise thing in such a situation is understand the nature of sickness and decide whether it's going to get worst without treatment and rest.If yes, then it's better to take treatment immediately along with rest,as advised by the doctor. There is no point in fighting against or delaying what's needed to be done,. as it works out to be more expensive and troublesome if we ignore a disease in the beginning.Getting sick is expensive and irritating but ,"what can't be cured(immediately) has to be endured(treatment).Get well soon.

Yep I go thru the same thing. It drives me nuts. so much so that I have to be just about on my death bed before I will call in. Once I went in and I was so bad off (coughing looked pale) my boss sent me home. Just be sincere. If you are honest on the job and a good worker then there is no problem calling in

Apparently, you do not enjoy working where you are. Go out and interview and get yourself a job you enjoy.
