Iran is a terrorist state that has proclaimed that it wishes to destroy Israel. Nuclear weapons would give them the opportunity to do so, heaven forfend.

If Israel does indeed have a nuclear capability, it will use it only as a last resort, after a first strike by some other power.

Iran is the biggest threat to the West today, and their military capability must be curbed by the West.

Thus, the United States' interest is identical to that of Israel and of the entire free world.

In addition, individual terrorists must be eliminated--if necessary by engaging them and killing them.

There can be no rational argument against this two-pronged approach.

You should pay attention more closely.

The problem is never with "the middle east". Its always with WHAT country.
America is against hard line theocratic and/or despotic regimes having nuclear weapons. The same applies to North Korea even though its nowhere near the middle east.

And notice I said "America" not George Bush. Bush is just one man. You may be interested in finding out what many people on both sides of the political aisle think about a nuclear weaponized Iran. You'll find that most agree its a "bad idea".

The answer is that Bush is not opposed to nuclear weapons in the Middle East... he is only opposed to countries that don't kiss his butt having them.

Seriously, Bush even gave the go ahead for India and their nuclear program two years ago without even demanding they agree to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (N-NPT)... btw, Iran is a member of the N-NPT... isn't that ironic.

Who said that PRESIDENT Bush (That is his title, don't be rude) is against nuclear weapons in the middle east?

He is not against them in Israel, only in the hands of homocidal maniacs.

NY police are not against guns, only in the hands of homocidal maniacs.

TSA is not against forks and spoons on airplanes, only in the hands of homocidal maniacs.

Don't assume, just because you hate.

I guess it's because Israel is our Ally and because it's location is pretty strategic given what is going on in the Middle East.

Israel allows gays in their military and that is why we gay closet neocons think they should have nukes, even if they sell the technology to other countries as they did with the Chinese, right guys!?!

Politics and double standards!

In my honest opinion, no country should be allowed to possess them.
