Just go to crucial.com and run their scanner. It will tell you all you need to know and all your upgrade options. And there's no obligation to buy from them, just get the info ;-)

You should be able to find a 1GB stick. It really depends on the interface of the RAM.. it'll be 184-pin or 200-pin. Just yank that old stick of RAM out and visit the store to see if the pins match up the the new RAM.

I'd go for the 1GB stick because it's the same thing as 2x512, but you are saving a DIMM slot for future RAM upgrades.

Don't keep the old 256Mb Ram it will most likely make your cpu slower. Get what's cheapest between the 2x512 or 1gb stick. Unless you'r considering upgrading later (in this case 1gb stick would be a better choice) 2x512 or 1gb doesn't make a real difference.

Oh god. Please use a memory configurator like the one at http://www.crucial.com/ to decide what kind of memory to put in your laptop.

I tried looking it up for you, but I realized that there is no such lenovo laptop as the T1350. Chances are you have like a T42 or something, but the 1350 is the SERIES, not the model. In order to really tell, you need to let us know whether it is a T40, 42, 60, etc, and then the series.

Actually, you should just do it through crucial or kingston or some other memory configurator. They will tell you exactly the sku you need and how much memory your computer will support. Yahoo answers people will generally not do enough research to really find the right answer, so just do the memory configurator please :)

Your description is amazingly imprecise, no longer all kingston sticks come an identical. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, i might think of that in case you're using 256 ideal now, you're probable using SDRAM and upgrading it is going to be greater of a chore than paying for a a million gig stick of ram for fifty funds

Find out what the maximum the memory can be on the IBM, if it's one gb then get one stick in which you will get optimum production from this instead of two 512 sticks.

there should be no difference between the 2. if you have 2 slots and in the future you want 2 gigs then put the 1 gig stick in now. if all you want is 1 gig then put the 2x 512.

2x512Mb is fine for XP and 2x1Gb for Vista. Matched pair of RAM runs in dual channel mode (bigger bandwidth). Applications that are able to take advantage of the bigger bandwidth should run faster.

2x512 would be cheaper, but if you plan on upgrading again sometime soon, get the 1gb, or 2x1gb =P
Good luck =)
