Yes. I've been getting most of my news since 1949 courtesy of English language short wave radio. Lately I've supplemented that with the web editions of some dozen or so English language dailies in other countries. TV is eye candy. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Why not?
Depend on interest of the viewers and readers.
The world and local news in prints?
News in the internet.
Depend on what communication system were use in viewing and reading it.
