Walk right back out. Unless your a professional therapist you really cannot give unbiased advice. Even if you FEEL you can give good advice,it will almost always be tainted by your own personal experiences or your own personal opinions. Best to let them work it out themselves if the are not so heated- sit them down and help them pick a local therapist from the internet or yellow book.

What you need to do is create a diversion and distract the couple in effort to derail the argument. Something subtle yet effective like ...juggling or yodeling (works even better if you don't know how)! Because, communication is the leading cause of most fights.

Listen to each side of the story and give them my honest opinion. OR, tell them I don't want to get in the middle of it and walk away... depends who and/or what the fight was about.

Either you go in sit down and remain neutral. Or you do as I would do, turn around and head out the door. But stay close enough to be sure it does not become physical or in case someone may need your assistance. Not opinions.

Put on my robes, wig and get my gavel out. Time to judge----fighting techniques. Doesn't matter what their points are, the best fighter wins.
