People view other people as if they were themselves. So, if they would cheat in that circumstance. They believe/feel that you would as well. In todays jaded world. There are very few that can look at another with any degree of trust. Yes, that is the word, trust. If they themselves lack the capability. It is hard to believe that someone else might still be trustworthy.
It is a double edged sword. Lacking the ability to trust. They themselves become untrustworthy. Because they will be able to cheat without any measureable degree of "remorse" firmly believeing that "all men are cheaters". A vicous circle that few have the strength to overcome.
It is also worth noting that it applies both ways. Men frequently feel the same as women and statistically it is about even.
It is more than a little sad to see it occur. Both sides justifying the act of betrayal because the other is "untrustworthy". Better off by far to keep looking for someone with some degree of trust left.
Good Luck!
It only took me thirty years

1) All men DO CHEAT! ... they may not actually f**k another woman but you don't have to have sex with someone to be cheating.
Emotional cheating is the worst and probably the most common amoungst men (or at least those that i've known). Most Men suck! If it sounds like i'm bitter.... I am! :)
I do hope that there are men out there that can remain faithful in every aspect. Do I believe it's possible... probably not! But if it is then I apologize for the few good men that might be out there that take a bad rap because of what the majority of penis driven men do.

Most people believe experience, whether it's their own or someone else's.
So if a woman has been cheated on or she knows other women who have been cheated on, there may be a high probability that she believes men are cheaters.
But it really just depends on the woman. Some women don't believe men cheat even when they see it with their own eyes.

I think the word "women" should be "people". There are lots of guys who truly believe that guys and gals do not cheat once they have taken their vows. After all they have promised to each other in the presence of God to stay faithful until death do them part, they say. So pyschology tells us that people block out bad experiences in their lives or ignore things they do not want to accept because either they can not handle it emotionally or they don't want their cocoon blown away. When a person's cheating is out in the open and clearly can be seen by anyone, the person being cheated on obviously thinks they have more to loose by admitting the fact than if they just ignore it for financial, economic, social status or such.

I never in a million years would have thought my hubby would have cheated. After 7 years he got drunk and had a one night stand. Now no matter what I classify him as a cheater that 7 years went right out the door. That is why cause all good things are gone and forgoten and we tend to focus on the mistakes. Plus since women insist that all men do they usually drive the good ones to cheat anyway so why bother.

Women have a hard time believing that men don't cheat because they have either been hurt, or the fact that most guys they meet are jerks. If more guys did not treat women as objects, then maybe women would change their opinion about ourselves.
Hope this helps=)

It is just a matter of trust. It is not that women will never trust men for as long as this earth is here, but most women (and men!) have been hurt, if not once, then many times. If you love this girl, then be patient. Women can be unpredictable sometimes. Just be calm and patient. Do not force any sort of questions onto her about her past. She will open up to you when she feels that she can trust you. You have already told her that you are not that type of guy. You do not need to say it again. She will remember. Just be true to your word and she will be yours forever.

well, sweety the blame DOES go both ways. Just not emphasized as much on women i guess. Honestly though, males have a harder time controlling their "urges" therefore making them more LIKELY to cheat. women don't necessarily think all men will cheat, it's just more like oh say a PROVEN FACT that they're more LIKELY. Honestly the thing is though, it takes a BIG man to keep himself from cheating. You're a male...would you say you think more with your penis or your actual brain? How often do YOU lust? after answering that, multiple your lust by a thousand...and ya think when temptation comes you won't be tempted?......mmhmm....
hope this helps =]

It's not hard to believe, I know several men who would never cheat. It's all about that woman and her past experiences. Some woman just pick guys who are losers and cheating is like brushing their teeth. But not all guys will cheat, just like not all women will stay faithful.

My husband and I don't cheat, never have, never will. We both agreed at age 19 before we were married that we would end our relationship, it hurts less. We've been Married for 10.5 years and married at 20 years old. We grew up together, and crushed on each other for years and dated on and off at 16. I believe the reason we won't is because we were friends first, we have too much respect for each other, and our families to do it.
So it is possible.
Most people just give up too easy, marriage is work, and it is a rewarding job.
