Whatever you do, don't boil it. My friend did that when he dropped his retainer in the toilet, and he melted it, and it cost, like $300 for a new one. Get it out with gloves, if you're that skeeved out, and rinse really well in the sink, then put it in a glass of water with a splash of bleach in it, and let it sit for a while. Then, rinse it really well again, and brush it with your toothbrush.

Soak it in some water and a little bleach for a while. And then run water over it a while, and wash the bleach off it before wearing it again.

Once when I was in High School, I accidentally left it on my tray and threw it out with my lunch. I had to dig through the dumpsters, but I found it. I just washed it with Listerine. That kills germs.

do no longer BOIL IT! it is going to soften and get deformed and also you'll want to get a sparkling one for particular!!! Rinse it with warmth water then soak it in listerine over nighttime which will kill the micro organism. We also tell our sufferers to apply denture cleanser. best of success!

Get it out then wash it in warm soapy water. Then put in a dishwasher or a cup of boiling hot water to sterilise. I used to have one and it shouldn't melt it. Mine didn't. Otherwise get fitted for a new one.

Definitely retrieve it! You can soak it in a mixture of half water/half bleach for a few hours... rinse it very thoroughly before putting it back in your mouth, though. Definitely don't try boiling it to sterilize it-- that will just melt it.

Carefully wash it with warm water. You can use soap but do not use detergent or toxic cleaning materials. Bleach is very toxic and should never be consumed the slightest. No one, not even medical clinics, use bleach to clean their medical equipment - it's just dangerous and absurd. Don't put your retainer in boiling water as the hot water may affect the plastic in your retainer.
