Baseball is not big on the world scene. Europe doesn't play and would be terrible if they did. The USA, Cuba, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico are the major baseball playing countries. The best baseball players in the world are already in the majors so there really is no reason to start a league that would not bring anything to the table to MLB.

We're talking International Ball and it doesn't fail that somebody has to talk **** on the Royals. I think it's a good idea, but I'd like to see it more along the lines of expanding the World Baseball Classic. With a lot more teams, the qualfies for the Classic would take up a lot of the down time between the MLB season and the 4 years i between the tournament.
BTW... GO ROYALS!!!!!

It sounds great. Any little thing for world harmony, I'm all for it. However, I think the LLWS already does this in a better way than a giant International Baseball League might. MLB has it's own problems and we're all from the same country for crying out loud. Canada and US, of course.

there would be too many teams to follow. I personally think the idea of the "World Baseball Classic" being played once every 4 years is enough.

Cool idea, but think of the name International World series? Kinda repetative huh? We could keep the World Series but than really incorporate the world, and then finally soccer fans wont look at us as complete idiots!

I think it would be quite interesting, but I think there would have to be a smaller number of teams. Because with that many you would have a baseball schedule that would last all year.
