Its epinephrine being released in the brain caused by volts/amps peircing or passing thru your body.Think of when they use shock pads to "Kick start"the heart after someone flatlines.....now add that,but to your entire body.Dont know the excat science,but I DO know your brain produces epinephrine when shocked

I would say not (listen to a 60 cycle hum and compare it to the feeling), but is the reaction of your nervous system to the alternating current.
