the whole gift buying stuff has made Christmas overrated and over-commercialized. Christmas is a time to get together with family and friends and share fun lasting memories

People have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and the real spirit of the holiday season. The first South Park episode said it better than I ever could.

I don't know! I can't afford the 'best' gifts. My children have to give a portion of their xmas $ to a charity and they make their gifts that they give to grandparents, aunts, uncles and myself. So I guess in reality, I do get the best gift!

Not that for everyone. I am not a materialistic person at all. I give what I want to give not what they are expecting me to give. This year? My adult children are getting lottery tickets. That is all I can afford to want to give them. We can all enjoy the suspence as they scratch off the cards. :)))
