Okay, before people read this question is not about me asking people weather im retarted or need proffesional help, its just sort of a habit of myn. Well, I dont really know how to explain this, but when I think of the past I get very emotional sometimes, I have an excellent memory and remember many things that happend to me when I was 4 or 5 or almost any age!I have a tendency to like to think about the past, and sometimes it gives me a very warm feeling, like I wish I could go back there and enjoy life like that, like back when I was 7 I remember playing in the sunshine, with my cousins at my grandmas house, and it was a very sunny day. When I think about those childhood memories with me and my family I go "wow", I can't believe how different life is now, or how much things have changed, memories are very powerful and dear to me. What exactly am i feeling? Does anyone else feel this? Is it normal to feel this way?

It feels like back then it was the best times of my life, and I can still actually feel and imagine the sunshine, the good times, all the funny things that happend.

It's called nostalgia and yes, that's normal. Time flies and bad things can happen..... and as a child you are expecting to be protected forever, but that's not reality. Though your parents can look out for you, they can't be with you every minute of the day. You feel really shattered when you think of all the hopes and dreams that have eluded you.
I feel this way too sometimes. I remember being about seven and surfing in Hawaii with my Brother. I was blonde, bronzed and beautiful and life was great and I couldn't wait for the future. That was the calm before the storm really.

Yes. It's normal. I feel that way sometimes too. I hate being an adult sometimes. Having all these responsibilities. I'd give anything to be a kid again. That's why they always say don't rush your age. Enjoy being a kid. When kids are young all they want is get older because they think they'll have a better life or whatever. We don't realize how good we have it when we're kids. Anyway...I don't think there's anything wrong with the way you feel.

Living in the past is not good. What counts is the present and future. Most peole have to get over bad memories in order to move on in their life, you seem to have good memories that are taking your focus away from the present. Life is a struggle, and one needs to work real hard to develop oneself to meet it. One needs a strong worthwhile purpose in life, that makes one want to get past the hardships and on to success, and contributing to the world in some positive way. Meditation/prayer, heathy diet, exercise, and not overindulging, should help you focus more on what counts in life. Put more of your energy in projects in the present, and don't worry about being not as happy.

you feel life was better back then cause u know what was happening and you know what was going to happen in the future, so now you think that you would be able to enjoy it better than the present cause you are concerned about your current future, it happens to me a lot, we forget the good stuff we have and later on we feel bad cause we didn´t enjoy them that much only thinking about the bad side

This is reminiscing. Everyone does this-we are thinking back on our happiest times of our lives or possibly the saddest. I do it all the time
