How long is the road that goes diretly from Briatron to Carlsville? (imagine or draw a triangle with one 90 degree angle) please help? don't say you can't do it beacuse you need a paper,instead why don't you go get a paper & help me? & if ur not don't even bother answering!

well theres 12 miles on the bottom of the triangle & on the left side of the triangle is 16 miles.
now on the angle next to the side,which is 12mi. is Briarton,& on the top of the triangle where the point is carlsville, sorry is that better?

If you could reference a map showing these two places it would be a lot easier to help.

To solve this, use the Theorem of Pythagoras:
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
a = 12
b = 16
c^2 = 12^2 + 16^2 = 144 + 256 = 400
c = 20 miles

It sounds like the road is the hypotenuse of the right triange you're describing. It think the theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2. So plug in A and B if you know them and you'll get your answer.

Based on your added info I have 400 miles. Wait, that's c squared. So the distance would be the square root of that which would be 20 miles.

cuz we need more info.
like which side of the triancle is the raod,
where the cities or wtvr are,
etc
