Draw the line segments from the center to the vertices. You now have a whole lot of isocecles triangles. Their base angles are 1/2 of 162, and there are two base angles per triangle. That leaves 180 -162 degrees left over for the vertex.

And you can fit 20 18-degree angles into 360 degrees.

So there are 20 sides.
