If you wash your undies once a month we would celebrate. But if they hit the suds every day, you have created a tradition.
Tradition is something created over time. Celebration is just partying hardy.

We can celebrate things that are not traditions. We have traditions that do not involve celebration.

Tradition refers to something that is repeated over a long period of time. Celebrate means to do something special in honor of some person or event.

We can celebrate a promotion by taking the family out to dinner. Going out to dinner every Friday night can be a tradition.
