Yeah without the family support well just say that it would be harder to do our jobs and yes KASKA we made the choice to serve so people like you could run their mouth (mouth being a nice gesture) and KASKA guess what there is firemen and policemen here aswell so to thank our families holding down the homes would also be saying thanks to these first responders here doing over time also so you want have to disrupt youre life.
And youre welcome anyway

YES!! Of course! And if you have children at home it's ten time harder. You have to STAY on an even keel to keep the home front sane for their sake. Even when you want to cry because you're stressed/missing your spouse you keep a stiff upper lip so the kids feel safe. I think anyone that doesn't see a soldier as a part of a family is misguided and thoughtless. Even if that soldier doesn't have a wife and kids, he still has a Mama, Daddy, siblings and friends that worry about them and love them. Very short sighted to see the soldier as a solitary person, without attachments at home.

Families are the soldiers on the home front, that hold things together so their loved one can do their job overseas. People seem to forget this is not just a short business trip. There are people pulling their third and fourth tours over there. Some tours lasting almost a year and a half. The average person can not imagine the commitment and sacrifice the people here on the home front are making. Many people have just shrugged it off and not given it a second thought because it does not affect them directly. We all should be grateful on a daily basis for these people.Bless the troops and their families for their amazing, selfless sacrifice. Thank you for asking such a great question and making us think on something that is worthwhile.

-Bite Tom whenever he gets within three feet of a girl (where?... it could be fun) -Be Tom's personal -wink wink- trainer (scientists recommend a good stretch after a long workout. The exact method is only a question of pesonal preferance (-;) -Have the guys give me a makeover (honestly, they probably know a whole lot more about that kind of stuff than I do, bring it on) -Ride in a roller coaster ten times in a row without throwing up, to win a date with Bill. (I can handle roller coasters, but not the heat insde of a chicken costume or really any heat for that matter, I would get really dizzy and then just black-out... our date would be at the hospital, not much fun, and the food sucks) -Have to go to lunch with every single girl Tom's slept with. (I would love too, I could mentaly torture them *laughs evilly*) -Accidentally crash Georg's car into a brick wall. (You can't predct the *consequences* but Bill can get pretty fired up) -Have Tom teach me how to play the guitar. (I already can sing, but I am way too shy to ever do so plus I always wanted to learn how to play)

I just wanna know why Kaska would say something so cruel? Yea, a little boy or girl isn't sacrificing ?!?!? A pregnant wife who's hubby just got killed in Iraq isn't sacrificing? A Mom, dying of cancer who's daughter is On Afgan soil fighting, she isnt sacrificing?!?!?! You can have your support for the soldiers back. Im sure if ANY of them read what you said about THEIR families that they would NOT ant your support. I have said all along that I think the families give more than the soldiers. Most say I am wrong on that, but in my opinion their sacrifice is HUGE. Thanks to all of you....happy holidays. ANd may your loved ones return home safely.

I agree.
Kaska I remember a young cop who stopped a guy for a traffic vi and got shot in the face and killed. I remember the collection we took up for his wife and two little ones and how some people turned us down because the Police Dept has a widow *orphan fund don't they?
Right now I would like to Smack You!

Yes the family left behind often struggles financially, they have lost income in most cases and the adult is left to do the parenting of two alone, and the stress can be enormous.

Having a Soldier in my family, yes, I agree. My son-in-law left his wife and three children to serve his country and my daughter is doing one hell of a job holding down the homefront while her husband is risking his life.
And if you don't get 100 answers, don't feel bad. It just shows the amount of compassion contained in this hole and no reflection on you dear.
Thank you again from being so sweet and thoughtful.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
And THANK YOU to those who do answer!
Um..KASKA...Yes, I do thank first responders and their families as they bear the same risks. Pretty cold and callused if you ask me.
Ohhh, thumbs down from her. I am wounded. Karma baby, all Karma, it comes back to bite you in the azz.

I wouldn't say they are serving JUST AS MUCH, but they are serving too. They are serving through their love and hearts. They are serving because on a day to day bases they don't know what is happening to their loved one,, or if they will ever hear or see daddy again.
I know a few families that a loved one is "fighting" but I don't thank them.I embrace them and let them know that I am there for them if ever needed
