As with most things it depends how much time you spend practicing.

Keep sticking with projects that you enjoy doing, and start out with materials that are easier to work with (thinner fabrics & ones that won't slip as you sew them)....If you keep at it, you will be able to complete many projects that will eventually help to progress you to a point you are happy with!

I started sewing when I was 8. My mom had me make my own dolls and a simple top. Practice will improve your technique. My old home ec teacher had us practice with lined paper. Put the paper in the machine and sew down the lines. You learn quickly. Also ask around at local fabric stores, they usually have beginners sewing classes. If you are in school, take home ec! Might also check your community college. Often they run "fun" classes in the summer, might have sewing classes!
Be diligent, sewing is a terrific skill that more people should have. I have made a lot of my own clothing because the clothes you buy in the store can be very poorly made and of really bad fabrics. You can control the fit, color...everything!

Depends on what kind of sewing. I'd suggest going to your library and picking a few books on sewing and clothes making. (or youtube it.) Buy some fleece, string, and a needle. Practice the hand-sewing techniques on fleece. I'm assuming you're hand-sewing, though. Machines are a bit different because they all differ. (ex: I prefer my old machine over the new one. The new one goes too fast.) If you get a machine that is easy to control the speed with, you'll be fine. My high school's fashion class made purses in the first 2 months, so it's not hard.

I've been sewing for over 25 years, but started by cutting out my first wrap-around skirt without a pattern... I may not be the norm, but it did lead to me designing sewing machine feet for a blind person and millions of people have benefited from them since.

You can learn anything if you want it bad enough,.. it is best to think of what you really want to do and do it first. Don't take on too much at first or you may become discouraged.

The Feet help you sew straight in addition to over 60 other techniques... We are also developing a new site that you can join now free... it is like a myspace site for sewers except we are bringing in educators from all over the world to teach classes for only $5.00 each class... You can take the classes at home in the comfort of your jammies....

I not sure. I was very young when my Mother would show me what she was doing when I asked her. So, I had some basics already. Knew how to thread the needles and load a Bobbin. Then I had watched my mom pin patterns and cut cloth. So, by the time I really started to learn, it took about 3-4 months to have a good straight stitch and the hems look good every where.
Been many years I touched a sewing machine. When I find the sailboat I want, I will make my own sails.

I would say that the more you practice, the better you will get. When I started sewing bags-I threw away the first 10 or so that I made-then they got better (to my surprise:) and each time I made something new-it was better than the last. So if you have basic sewing skills-just pick something you want to make, and if you don't like the first one-make it again, or redo it-sooner or later you will pick it up:)

It's kind of like using the computer...just keep experimenting and trying new things. Start with easy basics and don't be afraid to try something that looks abit beyond your talent. Ask questions of someone you know who sews and keep going!

I like girls in jeans. It makes them look more home town like and it doesn't appear to be they are trying too much but if you're trying to get this men attention, this might not be what you would like

I really do enjoy using long skirts once in a while. They can be actually more comfortable than Denims and not as hot to wear also.
