Yep, its more than possible, its downright regular.
I'm afraid I'm one of those guys who already know the answers before they tell me they're going to test me...
But the thing is, I have always read a lot, (its not work for me, its entertainment,) not textbooks, just books. And if you're reading just to learn a subject most of it will just evaporate, it has to have a context... In other words if you need to know about the arctic, you can read a chapter in an encyclopedia and unless you're just a natural sponge for knowledge you'll forget most of it by tomorrow. If you read a short story about someone you identify with trying to survive alone in a deadly-beautiful wasteland, "incidental" facts will just "magically" stay with you...
Everyone retains different knowledge, but out brains seem to identify with PEOPLE, not WORDS. Interesting stories about interesting people seem to stick in memory... You remember who Jennifer went out with in August don't you?
Sometimes you just have to make up a story to keep yourself from dumping information as mental garbage... Your mind is set up to keep you alive and well in a society of people, social situations and unusual circumstances usually get filed by the human brain as "important-Do not delete!!!" automatically.

Of course they are and you know it.Genetics has a big say in the abilities we are born with. Its a fact of life that some are born better then others but the truth is we all have the same potential no matter how different we are. Some things are the same with every human being such as the human conscience and the human spirit regardless if we use it or not.

It is not that some people are born smarter than others, but rather that some people are born with a higher potential for intelligence. This means that they can learn and know more and easier than other people. Don't feel bad that the pothead gets better grades than you. Once he's out in the real world he won't be able to keep a job and will end up being a loser, albeit a smart loser. You on the other hand, have a strong work ethic and the potential to achieve great things through effort. Like the saying goes, "genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." I'm pretty sure Einstein said that, and he was brilliant. Don't give up, keep working hard, and know that in the end you'll do far better than the potheads and slackers.

We believe that all people were created equal in the sense that no one has the right to dominate another and that God loves us all equally. However, one can tell just by looking around that some people are better looking or taller than others. Similarly, some people do seem to be born with a greater capacity for acquiring, retaining, and applying knowledge. But most people are good at SOMETHING, and it's one sad fact of our educational system that those good at things other than "book learning" often don't have an opportunity to develop and use their strengths until they're in senior high school and have had several years of struggling with things they're not so good at and developed an ingrained belief that they're stupid.
Now I'll get off the soapbox! A B- is still an above-average grade. And anyone who works hard and abstains from pot and sex has the potential to be a valuable employee--and has a good chance of doing well in life while her classmates are messing up their lives.

Yes, some people are born smarter than others. But that doesn't mean you're stupid! You obviously try hard, and you WANT to succeed. That counts for a lot. Maybe you can tell you're teachers you're struggling. For sure, they will give you help. Ask your parents to get you a tudor. Do exercises that increase your IQ. Most people aren't born geniuses. If you are, good for you. But if you're like most people, it may take a while to get the credit you deserve. That's just the way it is. Unfair? Maybe. But think of how good you'll feel when you FINALLY get that A paper back. Think of how much better your accomplishes are when you actually had to work for them. That's a feeling those potheads are incapable of having. Just because you're not a natural Einstein, it doesn't mean you're worthless. Keep trying as hard as you are now. Trust me, it's not all for nothing.
Good luck!! =)

Of course it's possible -- we're all born with some innate intelligence, though some start off with more than others do. But we also all start off with different strengths and weaknesses. Maybe you're not the A-student at school, but I'm sure you have other talents, and you've said that you're a hard worker, which is great. At least you're not one of those people who are smart but lazy so they end up getting nothing done!

Yes, everyone learns differently. They may perform better at exams than you do. But there are technics for studying more efficiently, and getting better grades. Enroll in a study skills course or have a few lessons with a professional tutor.
Studying is a skill like anything else. While many people are born with artistic talent, all of us can paint better with a few lessons and a lot of practice. The same is true for studying and performing well on exams.

Yes, some people retain information much easier then others. I had to work my butt off in school to get a B. This doesn't mean you are stupid. We all have something we do better then others. Keep at it, you are doing everything right. There are so many things out there for you to explore as you grow, and one day people will be looking at you thinking she is so good at that, or I wish I could be more like her.

Life is not fair, not everyone intellect is the same and for the same reason one person has red hair and another person has black hair. It's inherited. I had a friend at college who could start a term paper or study for a test, 3 hours before it was due and would get an A. I could study for weeks and still get a B or C. Intellect is inherited and people who aren't as lucky as others

Genetics does play a part in smartness.
And everyone is equal to God, he is more interested in your soul than your brain.
Maybe the smart kid is cheating. Watch him for that, then if you have guts report him. Otherwise, just study more.
It's not the grade that counts, it's that you are learning something.
