By the1800s the once powerful Ottoman Empire ruled by Muslim Turks was in serious decline. As it began to fall Greeks, Serbs and Romanians achieved their long-awaited independence.

Only the Armenians and the Arabs of the Middle East remained stuck in the backward and nearly bankrupt empire, now under the autocratic rule of Sultan Abdul Hamid.

In the 1890s, young Armenians began to press for political reforms, calling for a constitutional government, the right to vote and an end to discriminatory practices such as special taxes levied solely against them because they were Christians.

The despotic Sultan responded to their pleas with brutal persecutions. Between 1894 and 1896 over 100,000 inhabitants of Armenian villages were massacred during widespread pogroms conducted by the Sultan's special regiments.

This was the beginning and the unjustifiable reasons that caused it.....

Problem: Only Nos. 3 & 5 are anywhere near ascertainable. Nos. 2 & 4 are gross exaggerations, the figures pulled out of thin air, or someone's butt. Yours? No.1 flies spitefully in the face of settled fact. No question. Turkey is a member--alongside the Nazis--of the genocide club. The good thing while the Nazis never got the chance, Turkey has not done anything infamous since. That's moral progress.

There is no such a thing as Armenian Genocide, in the Ottoman days Armenians chosen to be on the Russian side against Turks even tho they were living in Ottoman empire soils then the Ottoman Army had to relocate them, unfortunately while this travel a lot of people died both Turkish soldiers and Armenians cos of attacks and bad weather and hunger there wasn't even 1 million Armenians there at the time there was only around 300

Now the Armenians trying to claim money and land from the Turks that's why they have been telling this lie to the world, as they are so desperate cos its a poor country

were fighting World War I,
you turks need to get your
stories straight. So, why
did they dump the survivors of
this so called relocation in the
desert with no food and water.
The mass graves there are
proof positive that's where they
were taken. I also want to know
what happen to the other 1/2 million

The following video is from a Turkish historian named Taner Akcam. His explaination is:

Armenian Genocide: 1900's-1920

The land in question, was the last piece of land in the hands of the Turkish rulers, which they taught they were going to lose. First, the Serbs got their independence from the Ottoman Empire, then the Greeks, and the Bulgarians, and the Romanians..and slowly, the empire was decreasing.

The Turkish rulers thought they were going to lose their land to the Armenians as well. Therefore, to rescue the Ottoman Empire, they had to "Homogenize" the population of Anatolia. Therefore, they implemented the deportation of all Christian people from Anatolia.
