A story fortold,
A song prewriten,
Yours for now
Mine forsaken.

Bestowed with the gift
Of words mighty and old,
The power to bring together
Those of hate and sword.

Forsaken am I
That you should depart
From the one who loved you most.

What once came in stride,
Now stays out of reach
Like wispy clouds
And the sun's ray.

a rating please, and can you tell me what you think it is about?

The theme that came immediately to mind is Don Quixote.

No windmills are shown, but it fits the story well.

I do like it, at first read I was left feeling like there was something missing but when I read it a few times it kinda grows and gives up its story. Very nice.
