I find 2 GB of RAM to be plenty for today's PC or laptop. The more the better, especially with 64-bit operating systems and servers. MAC likes RAM too. The key is that the machine runs faster if it has more RAM to hold your applications and data cached, rather than having to page to the drive, which has an affect on the I/O of the system. Anything below 512 MB is poor for today's applications and messaging needs.

I have 3 hard drives and two operating systems for a total of 240 Gigs. The mother board is maxed out. With all the hidden files which number 400,000 you sometimes wonder how they all got there?
My RAM is only 1 Gig.

I have 2GB of ram. If you are asking with regards to how much your system should have, that would depend on what kind of software you are using.

The default standard minimum is 1GB.

If you are going to be doing image editing and or video editing, I would recommend no less than 2 GB

If you are gaming, as long as you have a good video card 1 GB will do, but 2 GB is preferred.

I hope I have answered your question.

I have two gigs in my Mac Powerbook G4. You need a minimum of 1 gigabyte of RAM for Adobe Creative Suite 3, so I upgraded. It also makes everything run smoother.

On this computer I have 1 gig DDR 2, on my gaming computer I have 5 gigs of DDR2, but I have to change my motherboard to a newer one cause one of the slots won't read the other gig it was before but its not now.

idk if you're asking us, or if you wanna know how to see how much you have.... I have 1 gig, but I'm getting 2. If you go to "http://www.crucial.com" then they have a scanner thing that will tell you how much ram you have and reccommend the correct ram for you if you're looking to upgrade. (You can also just right click on my computer and click "properties", but it won't tell you what kind of ram you have and stuff, just the amount) I'd reccomend crucial if you're looking to buy though. I've used crucial, it shipped in like 2 or 3 days, great ram, great price. But ya, idk if you wanted to know that, or just how much I have, so I gave you both, lol.
