Use the sine or cosine function. Which one you use depends on the location of the known angle and side. If the angle is next to the side that you know the length of, use cos(angle) = x/h where x is the side that you know the length of and h is the hypotenuse. Otherwise it is sin(angle) = x/h.
solving for h gives h = x /sin(angle)
You need to use 5.5 feet as your x since 6" is half a foot.
