They just go with whatever beliefs make them look good or agree with them?

I`ve had that experience, and I just don`t understand the attitude. It`s not the end of the world if they don`t agree with me, but when you can see it`s just prejudice,that`s ridiculous.

Yes it is disheartening when people don't try to see things from another's point of view. Sometimes all that the other person needs is simply for someone to listen.
