No he's not out forever. He'll just be out for a long time he needs to heal n recoup. During a match with Ken Kennedy he suffered a complete tear in his right pectoral muscle after botching an apparently simple hiptoss on Kennedy. This happened right before No Mercy, he couldn't wrestle so he had to give up the title.
The Con- He screwed up an easy move (easy by other WWE wrestlers standards)
The Pro- He stayed in there after getting hurt and finished the match and he stayed with the plot-line letting Randy Orton beat the crap outta him, which probably made it 10 times worse.
Doesn't sound serious but it is. The pectoral muscle connects the ribs, clavicle, and upper arm with the chest. Injuring that disrupts everything from moving the arm to turning the head, to just breathing so it's gotta hurt.
Estimated time of recovery is anywhere from 6-12 month depending completely on him and his dedication to coming back!!
I'm not a big Cena fan but I do respect the fact that he held the Title for over a year and stuck through the match after a really bad injury like that. Who knows maybe more ppl will start to respect him now that he's taking lumps like a regular wrestler?

He tore his pec muscle tendon in a match with Mr Kennedy in early October. He needed surgery & he had to drop the WWE title.He's out til late April or early May if he makes a good recovery.
