William McKinley was his name. He was shot by Leon Czolgosz on Sept. 5 1901 in Buffalo, New York. He didn't die immediately, he actually made a slight recovery soon after undergoing an operation but later developed gangrene in his wounds and died soon afterwards (Sept. 14 1901). As a result of the presidents death, his assassin Leon Czolgosz was executed by electrocution on Oct 29 1901 at Auburn, New York in Sing Sing jail.
