After reading about and seeing the pictures of Jennifer Love Hewitt supposedly looking fat in a bikini, i'm a little bit disgusted. the girl is kinda curvy, but still very slim. the sad thing is, the websites that are bashing her now for being "fat" were bashing her a year ago for being too slim. can a girl win?

when did we decide that a size two is fat? why the fascination with body size?

Rebel: well, she said she is a size two when defending herself, and i am giving her the benefit of knowing her own body. i think those shots were taken at very unflattering angles. she looks to be be smaller than me and i am a size 8. but that is not the point.

why is the media so obsessed with body image? you can't win, the women are either too skinny, too fat, too old, too whatever. it's so stupid.

starbrit: yeah, i think you just proved my point.

spuddy: haha. yeah, exactly.

starbrite: what i meant was, the first thing you did was bash her size, then said she needed to tone her rear end and of course you didn't forget to mention you're smaller than she. that really was not the question, but it does prove how ruthless others are and how unfairly they judge others, especially women. she says she is happy with her body, why do you care how toned her *** is?

MRS: i could be wrong, but i don't think Hewitt has had a baby....

starbrite:i wasn't asking you what you think she looks like. you missed the point entirely. i was talking about how we put pressure on women to be a certain size and by your snarky critique, you made my point. i don't care what you think she looks like.

2007-12-03 13:57:36 · update #6

starbrite: ok, sure. if you can't see the point, sorry for you. that is all.

2007-12-03 14:14:26 · update #7

starbrite: she said she was a size two, like i said in the previous details. i didn't just make it up, but her size really isn't the point.

sigh.

and bitter? no. tired of arguing with a brick wall? yes.

The media is a ruthless, soulless dictator.

Why? A combination of money and a twisted desire from some people who wants to be accepted just because of their body.

I agree. No one can win. I think Jennifer Love Hewitt has a great body. I was watching one of her shows (don't know the name) and thinking she has a big butt...however I then thought about it and decided she really didn't, but most other women on TV were ridiculously skinny and unfeminine. There are then those that are glorified for their obesity. If you look at stars predicted BMIs, most are underweight. Even some you may not really think of. I don't see why the media, specifically the entertainment industry, has to promote unhealthy images of women. Too skinny or too big, both are wrong and neither are healthy. What is wrong with promoting health?

Shivers, I am not sure of the size comparisons, however I do know that sizes in the US have changed over the past 50 years. What used to be a 12, is now (I believe) a 10 or an 8.

EDIT- She has also had a child. I think that should be a huge factor into her size, especially her lower half. She is a healthy, mom....not a sickly one, which many look like.

EDIT- Oh, I think you are right. I think I was thinking of Jennifer Garner

EDIT- I had to add this. Who wouldnt want to look like this?

jennifer love hewitt does not appear to be under or over her BMI, and therefore, I'm sure a little cellulite won't kill her and i'm betting her boyfriend doesn't mind either. in fact, most men find her very attractive, as far as i can tell. so, anyone commenting on her being fat or unattractive is jealous, plain and simple. don't hold people to standards you yourself can't live up to, ladies. tone your own rear end if you're worried about it. i think actresses making thousands of dollars just for television appearances probably don't need fitness advice! she's a sex symbol for a reason: because people like her figure, cellulite or not.

and as to whether she's a size two, i don't know. i don't care. i actually think her announcing she's a size 2 as some sort of defense is a little tacky, though. i'm a size 7 and not overweight by any standard and it's hard for me to believe she's a 2. but whatever. doesn't really matter.

I just saw that article (the pics actually) but didn't read the story.

She's a size 2???? Gosh, she looks great whatever size she is. If they insinuated that she was fat and she's a size 2, that's even more ridiculous.

The paparazzi should leave the celebs alone. Give them a break. When I went to school in NYC, I ran into tons of celebs in clubs and restaurants. Big deal. I said hi to Hulk Hogan once in a club and said Hi to LL Cool J on the street, but that was it. People should just leave them be.

Women ought to start worrying less about getting skinnier and scrawnier, and start doing fitness training to get in shape. A size ten shapely toned woman with some strength looks far better than a flabby size two. Muscle is what gives women a curvy figure, not getting weak skinny and unhealthy.

I don't think so. These are American sizes though?
I think an American size 10 is a size 14 in Australia, so a size 2 is a size 6 here, pretty tiny and no way in the wide world is a size2/6 fat.

It's absolutely ridiculous this whole size thing.

Fat, means someone that is overweight and a UK 14/16 isn't overweight, which would be a US 12/14?

The thing I find most ironic about this wanting to be a size 0 thing, is that women only do it to impress other women. We all know that men hate skinny girls.

The reason why thoses type of photo's are so popular, is because it's makes normal women feel better about themselves.

If you see that a supermodel has cellulit, you are overjoyed, because then you know that there is nothing wrong with you.

But these photo's are wrong because they take away someone privacy and distort the truth. Their is lot that they can do with a camera lens!!

Of course a size two isn't fat.

She is a size 2?? Are you sure? I saw those photos, and while I wouldn't call her "fat" I did not think she would be a size 2.

Anyway, there are different standards for celebrities than there are for regular people. My size is in the double digits, but I can go to a bar and get plenty of attention.

But if a celebrity is in the double digits, that's a big no-no. Also, we have to keep in mind that the camera adds lots of weight to people. I found out recently that Queen Latifah is only 200 pounds. I have friends that weigh about that much, and they look WAY skinnier than she does! (Of course height and build need to be considered...).

A size two is definently not fat. That is just the media, that's the kind of things they push out. They could have gotten her in a certain position, making her look fatter than she really is. You never know what they can do. They try to cause havoc on purpose. It's just what they do.
