I strongly suggest not using mesh, the crickets will escape into your house. Use plywood and plexiglass if at all possible. Here is the site I used to build our beardies cages, it ends up being about the size of a 75 gallon tank, but with the sliding doors, it is easy to clean.

Build a wood box. Cut a space in the front for swing-out doors, or get fancy and install sliding glass doors. Then put in a heat fixture and a UV fixture and voila.
