Al Gore has made $100 million dollars and recieved a Nobel Prize off of global warming. Yet today, more than 4,000 scientific signatories, including 72 Nobel Prize winners, from 106 countries have signed "The Heidelberg Appeal" disputing Al Gore's claims, who do you believe?

Sageands,

Seems you missed this part in your review of my source:

"But we herewith demand that this stock-taking, monitoring and preservation be founded on scientific criteria and not on
irrational preconceptions. "

pachl,

You list no links to support your claim, feel free to read some papers from any scientist that I have listed above.

pachl,

I believe the temperature variations you claim support your claim would be found here,

http://web.archive.org/web/20060708001540/www.john-daly.com/nasa.gif

It shows no rapid or lasting trend that you claim in your posts.

Great effort . I really appreciate your zeal to define the truth .
But please be smart enough to recognize when a fellow partisan is making light of stupidity. . . . . ala Pachl .
I support your hypothesis.

And btw , there are over 30,000 signatories including John Coleman . . . . the originator of the Weather Channel .

But good effort !!

I don't really know how global warming works, what it is doing, and how it will affect the little penguins 25,000 miles away from me. I have my own personal opinions on the science behind it, but I believe that whatever the truth is, it is muddled and hidden behind political agenda. Whether it is people on the right using its non-existence as an excuse to preserve the status quo in terms of society, or the people on the left like Al Gore using it as an excuse for more taxes and globalization. Either way, what I don't get is, if there is so much dissent (even if there are 3 times as many scientists agreeing than disagreeing), how can we come to a scientific "consensus"? I thought we come to consensuses in politics, not science. I mean, I thought science was clear and concise. One experiment can not prove a hypothesis, but it only takes one to disprove it. Look at every other scientific observation. Gravity. I drop a pencil, it falls to the earth just as fast as a bowling ball does (taking away the wind resistance factor). Happens everytime. Global Warming? We are getting dissenting opinions, yet we are planning on spending billions of dollars on the issue? Doesn't make sense to me.

Al Gore has admitted he exaggerated to make his point! He is disingenuous at best.

Any reasonable person should believe the climatologists you have cited vs Gore.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being conscientious inhabitants of this planet.

Don't you want to live on a clean planet?

Gore's hypocritical way of life should reveal to all that he is slicker than his former boss Willie.

A quick check with snopes.com will show that Bush lives a much greener life than Gore-& always have.

Perhaps, the Nobel prize should go to the Bush family. What a farce....

#1 heartland institute isn't credible by any means. all you have to do is look at who their staff works for or have worked for and you'll see why. #2 I don't see any recent NASA studies claiming what you say they do in any of your links. All I see is an argument over CO2. Which has been proven beyond a shadow of doubt to increase the heat trapping ability of water vapor. #3 CO2 isn't the only greenhouse gas that effects water vapor as CO2 does. #4 it is only the southern ice cap that seems to be uneffect with a passive glance. In reality it is being affected. And when you study a little physics and chemistry to understand how temperature and equilibrium effects water, you'll understand better, what is going on. #5 your links are only referring to the southern icecaps, try looking at the north.

I agree with those that are not profiting from the Al Gore convenient lie. The issue is not really about the validity of global warming as this seems to be a cyclical natural occurrence that has been happening for millions and possibly billions of years. The issue is with the fact that Al claims Suburban drivers are causing this global warming phenom. Al Gore is a con man as well as a hypnotic hypocrite that has fooled a large number of people with his baseless claims.

NEW INFORMATION ADDED: PLEASE READ TO THE VERY BOTTOM !!!!!!!!!!

We Global Warming proponents are correct, and I can prove it.

You see, when the temperature graphs and other information didn't quite substantiate the theory of man-made global warming, we realized the phenomena was even more insidious than we previously imagined. Hence, we changed the term to "climate change". This can refer to the climate getting hotter or colder in parts of the world, wetter or dryer.

Anytime you have a day that is unusually warm or hot, suspiciously dry or alarmingly wet, we are proving that weather PATTERNS are changing globally. That is our new definition of Global Warming.

The recent San Diego wildfires prove that Mother Earth is trying desperately to correct the severe imbalances that man's relentless attacks on her have wrought. She has made the earth dry and barren, and is now wiping it clean with the purity of fire. All hail Mother Earth.

Since Global Warming (GW) is being so viciously attacked by narrow-minded scientists who stubbornly point out the temperature records don't support GW, we are now wisely emphasizing the change in weather patterns. You know what place must be the center of GW? Chicago, Illinois !! They have a saying there, "If you don't like the weather, just wait ten minutes. It will change."

Interestingly, records show this has been going on for centuries! Chicago must be like the epicenter of this disaster. Even hundreds of years ago, Chicago had changeable weather patterns. I believe we can fault the savage Indians and their evil, farting buffalo.

Don't mock GW. In order for Mother Earth to survive, she's going to use every resource at her disposal to lower planetary temperature. Pretty soon, ithere will be ice storms and snow in Miami. Indian summers will be a thing of the past. Planetary temperatures will cool, and people who live in Minnesota will never be able to get a decent suntan.

Who should we blame? All the people who didn't listen to the dire threat of Global Warming. You want horribly frigid winters and short summers? Well, don't piss off Mother Nature, because she's gonna come back with a vengeance. Unpleassant cold weather will be our punishment for not heeding the dire emergency of Global Warming.

ADDENDUM: I guess my spoof worked a little too well !!! People, read my response again. I am being totally sarcastic. Global Warming is a hoax perpetrated by people who want to control the world economy.

GLOBAL WARMING IS A JOKE, JUST LIKE MY ANSWER HERE. I'M BEING FACETIOUS

Al Gore is a fraud and always has been. Remember the Internet invention? Remember the tears he cried for his sister, that he said died of lung cancer because of smoking, while he was a lobbyist for the tobacco industry?
Now he's partner in a private mutual fund company that was established for Green?
Do a search for him and his mutual fund and realize that global warming is for his benefit, and the people that agree with him are probably investors.
The poster is correct.

Today????? Where have you been. The Heidelberg Appeal was started in 1992.
The document makes no actual reference to Global Warming and expressly states that it is not denying environmental issues.
This pretence that Global Warming is something Al Gore made up is just marginalizing the extreme right denialists and preventing them from being involved in finding solutions to issues that will affect them.
