Shouldnt we DEMAND that the government stop lying to its citizens? Shouldnt we stop supporting people who support pre-emptive war based upon lies, outright lies by those running and those in office already?

It is all about black gold-oil. Somehow we are feuding only with the oil rich countries such as Iraq, Iran, Venezuela. All of a sudden only oil rich countries have "Evil Regimes" and "Dictators" and somehow we want to "Liberate" people only in those countries. Of course our government keep feeding us lies and deliberately misleading propaganda so that negative public opinion against those countries with "Dictatorships" will be formed and our government will get an easy green light to start another oil war. Many Americans understand that, but many useful idiots still do not.

The recently disclosed CIA intelligence rewards Iran for stopping their gorilla war against the American occupation of Iraq, and cools the level of the cold war between Iran and the US. The same intelligence was withheld in 2003 to create war hysteria against Iran, in order to make possible a military attack against them and to intimidate Iran by making them believe we would attack them. Barring such an attack, Bush II can attempt to pressure Iran into backing off of Iraq. The CIA releases the intelligence that will support the plans of Bush II. It is not an open democratic institution. For war against Saddam in Iraq it lied with claims of WMD. For the attempted attack against Iran (which now is on hold) it lied about the state of Iranian weapons development. Bush I was head of the CIA, and while he was there crafted a plan for military domination of the region, building underground bunkers in the desert of Saudi Arabia that we still occupy. When he became President, Bush I began to engage his plan by goading Saddam to attack Kuwait by telling him through diplomatic “back channels” the US would not object if he would take over Kuwait (an historical province of Iraq). Once Saddam invaded of course, Bush I unleashed war plans that allowed the US to remain in the region with military forces. As a democracy we cannot trust the CIA to give us truthful information. The elite view in government is that public opinion in a democracy has to be managed and manipulated. Fear of WMD seems to be their preferred method. In fact, Iran is developing WMD. One must question, however, how much of this is a self-fulfilling process resulting from Iran attempting to protect itself against the bullying of the Bush dynasty.

So! Yes I saw the report and the administration trying to take credit for it.
Is anybody surprised?
Other than politically incontinent, socially drooly, cultural cretins that is?

Your point is well taken. But give them some credit. At least this time, they found out the truth before it was too late. That's what should have happened before we invaded Iraq. Looks like they might have actually learned something from that Iraq experience.

Iran does not need the nuclear energy they say they seek from nuclear technology. They sit on one of the world's largest oil supplies afterall. Why else do they need nuclear technology then - except to make weapons?

And who has said this? The same government you accuse of lying to us.

Intelligence is NOT a precise subject. For several years the Iranians have been publicly telling everyone who'd listen that they ARE pursuing nuclear weapons, and that they ARE enriching uranium for that purpose, and the US intelligence community has been saying "we believe them".

Now the CIA says "We think the Iranians are lying, and they dropped their program back in 2003 - although they're still enriching uranium", and what do the America haters say? Not, "Nasty lying Iranians!", but "Nasty lying Bush for claiming to believe Saint Ahmadinejad".
