Wi-fi is a standard. It doesn't cost anything by itself.

Wi-fi is a fancy trade term for Wireless Ethernet, which has several components to it: the adapter that goes onto individual computers (comes in several forms such as PCI card, PCMCIA, USB, and more) the "access point" device, and hybrid devices that mixes the access point with other network devices such as a router (thus it's known as a "wireless router"), a print server (wireless print server), and so on.

Depending on which components you buy, which version of Wifi (there's A, B, G, and now, N) and other functions, as well as which company you buy from and what brand you buy, your cost will vary quite a bit.
