Yes it did at OVW before they came into the WWE. John Cena beat Batista for the Championship title when Batista left and came to the WWE.

For those who don't believe me for some odd reason. Do some research people! It tells you all over the internet if you check it out. Cena held the Heavyweight Championship for 3 months at OVW.

Check out wrestlingrevealed.com or wikipedia or any other sites and you will see that Batista lost his title to Cena prior to going to the WWE.

Yep they fought in OVW back in 2002 when Batista was Leviathan & Cena was The Prototype.Cena beat Batista then for the OVW Heavyweight title, just before Batista was moved up to the main roster.

No the closest they have come to a match like that is when they were the last two in the Royal Rumble in 2005 and then at Armageddon 2006 in a tag match vs Booker T (King Booker) and Finlay

no but in the tied in the 2005 rumble then vince came out and restarted the match batista eliminating cena for the win

no but they were in a tag match against eachother
it was taker and batista vs cena and hbk

I can't think of it happening one on one in WWE but at No Way Out 2007 they faced each other with their wrestlemania opponents.

They were the finalists in the Royal Rumble 2005,
but no it hasn't happened yet.
