Do you have to get the 80 GB instead of the 40GB to be able to play PS2 games on the PS3?

The only PS3 that cannot play PS2 games is the 40GB PS3.
So yes, if you want to be able to play PS2 games you have to get the 20GB, 60GB, or 80GB PS3s.

I don't think so. And yes, the PS3 is backwards compatible with the PS2 and PS games. Hope this helped :)

Yes you have to get the 8MB to play it but you can copy ps2 games to ps3 as memory
