Some here seem to think that the rest of the world agrees with the neo-cons about Muslims. What do others outside of the US really think, for the most part, about Muslims?

In Asia there sure is not the fear of them that you find in the U.S.
Then again there arer no Asian countries forcibly changing governments (Iran and the Shah) and meddling in the affairs of others.
None of the Asian countries are all arroused by the oil in Iran either like the bush family so we dont have any interest in attacking Iran. We prefer to mind our own business.

Well one of the most liberal countries in all of Europe is actively trying to curtail the influx of immigrants who happen to be overwhelmingly Muslim, and that would be France even the do nothing French see the danger in to large of a Muslim population, and if the French can actually see the danger and find the back bone it has to a be a signal to the world the spread of the Muslim world is a threat to peace, freedom and liberty, world wide.

Depends where they are.

In a lot of countries that don't have the US' freedom of speech and of the press, people really don't really understand how evil the enemy we are fighting actually is.

Even in the west fear of 'offending' keeps a lot of facts out of the public discourse.

A perfect example has been the recent rioting in France. Even in France itself the press has referred to the rioters as "youths", or as "unemployed young people", and the French government themselves officially refer to the areas involved in the rioting as "quartiers sensibles" - or "sensitive areas" in English.

Nowhere in the mainstream press do they call a spade a spade and come out and say that these are Muslim slums, and the rioters are Muslims. It's a fact.... but the press doesn't want to offend "moderate Muslims" - the same "moderate Muslims" who are sitting in those "sensitive areas" while their kids are out burning churches and police cars.

I have friends that are Muslims, I don't dislike them at all. It's the radical Islamist Terrorists that I take issue with (to put it nicely).
