I'm pretty sure that first answer was wrong...

First do 48(.5)=24 This means $24 is the cost for the miles that day...

So the daily fee is $40 ($64-$24)

Thus... y=x(.5)+ 24

And I forget point-slope form...

y = .5x + 64 <-- slope intercept form

y = .5(48)+64 = $88 if driven 48 miles

y-64 =.5x <-- Point slope form
