These are the years you will always look back on and you will never have another opportunity to play basketball at the level your are now. I would say stick it out and do the best you can and I guarantee you will never be sorry you did.

Do your best. That happens at the beginning. But if you love it do it. Maybe practice yourself for a few months and when your really good go for it again. Or if you want to go try out for another team. And if you don't think you're good at it go for a class. They'll train you for things like push-ups and basketball all at the same time. Look for a while. Think about it. Is coach screaming at you and doing push-ups a thing to give up for basketball? Maybe you need better equipment. Go to your local Sports store like Sports Authority or Sprots Chalet. Ask a clerk for something a little higher than your level. If you practice at home with that stuff you'll be sure to get better in no time at all. Then it'll only be push-ups. As a warm up before you practice basketball at home you should do them to get in a habit. Start with 5 and every week do one more. Trust me it helps. Try asking your family for help with oyur stress. This is everything I know to help you go back on that team. I hope this helps!

You sound like a kid I know named Evan Levy. He is really bad, but he made varsity. He choose to. He choose to because he didn't like the bad players on the JV team. If you are the worst one on varsity, if there is still time, I say ask your coach if you can go down to JV. Playing a lot and being a leader on JV is better than a benchwarmer on varsity. The only good you get is getting ready for the varsity practises next year. I say don't quit, go down to JV, but if you've already had a game, you should just suck it up.

Well, you have to ask yourself if the abuse you take is worth playing the game. Normally, I would tell you to stick it out and outlast him, but basketball is just a game. Seriously, it is. How bad do you want to play? It sounds to me like your coach is trying to push you. In a lot of cases that is a good thing, but if it's counter productive, meaning that his constant pushing you is in reality pushing you away, then he's pushing a bit too hard.
But it all really comes down to this. How bad do you want it? How badly do you want to win? How badly do you want to prove to your coach you have what it takes to protect the ball and be an effective member of the team? If you want it bad enough, then stay and duke it out. If you don't, then you'd be doing yourself a disservice by staying.
Good luck.

Just do your best and try to tolerate as much as you can. Afterall, you're pursing your own interest. If you think you are willing to tolerate all these practice in exchange of your own passion in basketball, then stick to it. It may be hard work but maybe at the end of the day you'll feel that it is all worth it.
However, if you really couldn't take the strain, maybe you can try opting for other activities that you may be better in.
Nevertheless, give in all your best in everything you do. Quitting halfway is nothing but a loser and a wimp.

I know this sounds weird but that is the best thing for you. The coach maybe an asshole but it makes most people mentally stronger. Its like playing city ball gettin knocked on your *** makes you more aggresive. Stick with it kid. If not go to a prep school that offers Post Grad Years. Good Luck.

the reason that coach is yelling at you because he knows that
you can do better than you are doing now.or maybe you should quits basketball if you can take people yelling at you
and you want to play at the next level. you need to start
growing up.

if you look at the pros versus the cons in your experience that should help make the decision. for me, i would quit or talk to someone above the coach about his behavior becuase it just isn't fair. i am sorry your basketball career went like this...i hope this helps you make the right decision

NO, if it something you love, then don't quit. Just stick around. I'm sure the coach will be removed soon.
