Yes that is correct.
However follow the rules - never click on your own ads or ask your friends to do it.
Google can check the IP addresses of click originators.
If you click from your own computer or if Google sees many clicks coming from the same IP address you will be banned.
The idea is to get lots of traffic to your site and approximately 1% or 2% click on ads, that's where you will get some revenue.
PS. You need to improve your ad color/layout.

Actually, both answers above are incorrect. AdSense does NOT pay you for every click. AdSense only pays you for "valid" clicks. There is an algorithm created by the Google AdSense team that detects fraud (they are VERY good at this), and if you get multiple clicks from a person, they might not count them. Also, sometimes you might have something called Public Service Ads (PSAs) on your webpage. These "ads" are ads that are placed on a webiste by AdSense because there aren't enough keywords/content on the website for Google to send you advertisements. If someone clicks on these advertisements (PSAs usually have something about Katrina Hurricane Relief--I've attached a picture in my sources) you don't get paid. Google might log the click but will show $0.00 made.

For more money making tips, I suggest you check out http://www.fka200.com. There are posts that assist those in AdSense and other advertising networks. Since you are new to AdSense i also suggest that you check out their terms of service. Before payment, Google usually reviews websites so they will check to make sure you have been following the guidelines. I really recommend this to all my clients that I assist.

you can use adbrite ads like adsense and they will work together as long as you follow the strict guidelines

its on the site and the button will lead you to the sign up... they have full page ads that may count as clicks.

you can also run programs that constantly refresh multiple webpages and delete cookies so the full page ads can run all day but im not into any of that!

Make sure you are creating quality content that is relevant to your user base in order to help yourself get better ads with more relevance. More relevance equals higher CTR and more money.

The answer able about quality clicks is true, and Google will be able to determine fraud from fact, however I wonder if they relay this to their advertisers in terms of advertising refunds?

no... blogspot.com is a google property so that advertisers can put content similar to your blog and surfers click on the link, google gets paid... not you... do you use gmail.. they have adsense on it there as well so that the money they are investing in the website gets paid for by the advertisers..
