I want to get my neice something really nice for Christmas, because I rarely see her (she lives across the country). Do 14 year old girls like video games or have they grown out of them? I was thinking about getting her a DS...are they fun? I always see the DS ads with adults playing them, so does this mean they are not just a kid thing? And if I got one for her, what games would she like? Sorry I am very unexperienced with video games. Thank you for your help.

I dont think they ever grew into them, its a bit of a over generalization but w.e. Don't bother with the DS, even if she likes video games she would hate DS, they suk shyt. Wii is kinda cool, maybe not for 14 y.o.... I think you'll be safest with a gift card from a local mall or something.

It really depends on the person. I think that for that age, a Nintendo ds would be perfect, but what if she's not into video games. Call your brother or sister and just ask them if she is into video games. I bet she would like it though. There are so many fun games for the ds for that age group. I know Nintendogs are really popular. Otherwise there are all kinds or like fashion designer games and things of that nature.

I have no doubt in my mind that your niece would absolutely love a Nintendo DS for Christmas. If you want to make the gift extra special, I would suggest you buy her a pink one (unless you believe that she would prefer a baby blue, white or black coloured DS). The DS comes with everything you need to play minus the game (rechargable battery, charger, styluses, instruction manuals).
There are also many games targeted at a more feminine audience such as Bratz, Nintendogs, Catz 2, Dogz 2, Horsez 2, High School Musical and the like, however there are higher quality games on the market such as New Super Mario Bros, Pokemon Diamond (or Pearl), The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Drawn to Life that your niece is just as likely to enjoy. :)

A DS is nice but the screen goes bad sometimes. Try a PSP, they're better. But if you're going to buy a DS, any Mario or Digimon game for a girl my age.

Well I want one for Christmas and Im 13 but I can only speak for myself but maybe if u have her email address or telephone number you can just call her and ask her or her mom what she wants for christmas.
