the similariteis are easy....they're about the same age, they both have a strong passion for magic, they both have a fan club of sorts.
Harry almost went to the slytherin initially but talked his way out of it.

the diffs are:
Malfoy is evil, Harry is morally good natured.
Malfoy is selfish and obsessed with hurting Harry while Harry is not obsessed with hurting malfoy.

harry has a natural ability for (that sport that they do, i forget the name) while malfoy is particulary gifted at anything.

malfoy is controlled by his father. harry is a self thinker and acts independently.

Malfoy is guided towards darkness while harry is guided by light
your basic good v evil

You could try doing things like thinking about the motives they have for acting the way they do, the reasons they do, that sort of thing. You could also compare the pressures they have on them to act in a certain way. For example, Harry wants to do the best he can in the memory of Dumbledore, whereas Draco wants to do his best for Voldemort (even though he's scared).

Just try and find out why they are on opposite sides to each other (differences), and then how their positions are similar. Draco had all that pressure on him to kill Dumbledore in the book before, and he didn't manage it, and Harry has had all that pressure to kill Voldemort in the books before and he hadn't managed that either.

Hope that helps!

You could focus on how both are ill used by their Families Harry by the Dursleys and Malfoy by his Father> Malfoy is put down and often admonished by his father - like Harry he only wants acceptance.

Harry Potter is about witchcraft. (like Mathew said) Tell the teacher you never read the book because your religion does not allow it. The school district is not to "push" a student to do something that is against the students certain religion. Believe me my sister is a teacher.

well first off, you need to start with the fact that harry is willing to die in order to defeat the dark lord...aka voldemort...and only voldemort. he will not let himself get killed by death eaters.
another is that draco is afraid of dying, especially by the dark lord or the death eaters.
harry finally realizes that snape was in it for harry after he learned that the two adults that were killed because of him were harry's parents- he was aiding dumbledore even tho it looked like he was aiding voldemort.

there are others but i cannot remember them at the moment. have fun.

What do you think they are? Get a piece of paper and draw a line down the center. On one side, put "differences" and on the other "similarities."

As others said, Wikipedia.

Also, make a Venn diagram because Venn diagrams are awesome.
