yes...and so she should she would have made contributions other than monetary if she didnt work, like looking after that so called house and all the children you both filled it with.....she probably has contributed much more in time....if you paid her an hourly rate she probably contributed equally or more than what you did.

Yes.. I know this is not what you want to hear but she can ,in fact, get half of everything until you have a pre-nuptial agreement.. I am sure she can prove she added to the home in some shape , form or fashion. The reason I know this is because I divorced after 28 years and I took the house, the car, 1/2 of the 401 K and everything else I could get my hands on. He left with only his clothes and a toothbrush. He found himself the county bicycle, everyone else had had a turn and he thought he needed one. He is still riding that damn ole wreck but he is flat broke, with nothing he can call his own except his job as an auto parts salesman and a rusty ole bike/*****!

Probably more than half, if the reason she didn't make the payments was because she was home taking care of you and raising your kids. In my state she'd most likely get 60% of the house and of everything else too. Why? Because when a wife has been home for 30 years, she can't get a well-paying job too easily.

Did she cook, clean, raise kids, make it possible in any way for you to work? A vow is a legal promise, did you sign those papers? Did she contribute to your happiness and pleasure in any way? See that's why women should charge for waitressing, chef, bus boy, dishwasher, maid service, home management, accounting, delivery service, grocery service, personal secretary, laundry service, gardener, babysitter, oh, on site call girls are an outrageous price. Why don't you just pay for 30 yrs of 24/7 services, overtime, double time on hollidays and keep the stinkin house, you dumb jerk.

Is their name on the deed or mortgage papers? Then yes. Do you live in a community property state? Then yes. Was she a stay at home wife? Then probably yes.
Sorry.

Yep she sure does get half. Just because she didn't make "mortgage payments" doesn't mean she didn't contribute.
