Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and later versions have a feature which caches webpages as you surf the Internet. By caching webpages, should you revisit a webpage you previously viewed, Firefox can load the webpage must faster. The more tabs you have open the more memory Firefox has to use in order to cache the webpages. Firefox 3.0 is soon to be released which addresses this "high memory" use. Some people call it a memory leak while other call it a consequence of caching webpages. You can change Firefox settings to decrease memory use. If you are interested, drop me an e-mail.

Regardless of how much more memory Firefox uses, it's much more secure than IE. I use Mozilla and I've never had one issue with it.

It's based off Mosaic and Netscape code which had memory leaks. Try opera for light resource footprint web browsing.
