Nope your driving record would follow you. I tried that same thing. My license was suspended in Michigan and I tried to do it Arizona and Illinois.
All you can do is pay the money that you owe for the suspension. It feels great when I get pulled over now. I know my license is valid and legal. All they can do is give me a ticket and I will not go to jail.
