Hey guys! I'm helping my nine year old brother with his grade four research project and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the Rocky Mountains and the plants native to the area? Thanks a ton!

Forget-me-not, bistort, penstemmon, mariposa, sage, cotton wood, aspen, there are gazillions. Used to live in WY. Great source book is "Field Guide of Rocky Mountain Wild Flower" forget the author. I presume you are differentiating between "native" and "can survive". As far as native goes, all the sages will do well, I particularly like curly willow trees, all the poplars are native _Aspen, Cottonwood, etc. Spruces are native, Chinese Elm are native in spite of the name. Many good sources on this.

One of the most famous and most beautiful is the Rocky Mountain Columbine. Blue and white, it is gorgeous.

there are so many, and it depends on the elevation. I know that there is bergemont, potentilla, ferns, daisies, bluebells, and on and on. Try a web site I am sure you could get a huge list.
