Stripes on my back; black and white
They confuse lions; out of sight
We stay together, really packed
Hopefully we won't be attacked
Our stripes will keep us out of harm's way
At least that's what us zebras say

Zebras mingle with other herbivores in mixed herds where they graze off the tough tall grass exposing the shorter tender grasses other species then graze. Wildebeeste & gazelle follow zebra to find shorter, more succulent grazing. Zebra lead the grazing succession breaking down stemmy swards and exposing leafy material for wildebeest which, in turn, create the grazing lawns favoured by gazelles.
