You need a broad college education, either a technical one - understand computers and numbers, or a humanitarian - understand people and write/say things so that they are simple to understand.

College might seem a waste of time if all you do is drink, but best jobs require a degree, and while you might not learn much in class, you learn to be around the people who do.

US economy is increasingly concentrated on complex services. All straightforward jobs that require only a couple months of training are either outsourced abroad, or earn very little wage.

computer skills and typing class and learn the keyboard without looking for the numbers for the accountants jobs.
Forget college you need something with more of a speciality training for a job. Like a computer programmer.
Drafting or a nurse or other medical assistant.
To waste 4 years in college getting drunk just doesn't cut it anymore. It is for people who didn't get enough fun in high school. Learn a trade if you want a job.
