As I've said before.....
He couldn't hold his daddy's turtleneck.
He's proven to be a liar (signing A-Rod after declaring they wouldn't negotiate with him if he opted out of his contract.)
EDIT: Legends - lol how exactly did he take a hard stand with the A-Rod situation? That's a FALSE statement on your part, and is laughable.
The Yankees negotiated with him after claiming they wouldn't. Yeah that's taking a very hard stand. lol.

The man is an absolute imbecile! He won't get played against the RED SOX? HELLO! That's exactly what has been happening for the last week dummy! This deadline thing is SOOO laughable and "legends never die" is hilarious saying he took a "hard stand". The only thing he took was a HARD ONE up the you know what when after one simple phone call he went back on his word of "never" negotiating with A-Rod if he opted out and then GIVING HIM A RAISE! He was refered to as a "clown" by PTI on ESPN today and was refered to as the "laughing stalk" of the winter meetings today during the ESPN2 live special from Nashville.
One "source" was reported tonight by COMCAST Sports as saying the TWINS will most likely just deal to the highest bidder when they see fit even if the Yankees pull out (see: RED SOX).
The TWINS have also said they are considering filing "tampering charges" against the Yankees & Hankey for addressing Santana by name and saying "he wanted him", which is a violation of the collective barganing agreement.
All in all, he is all that was bad about George Steinbrenner but with none of the GOOD things about his old man!

The Moneyball era is much different from the era when Frankensteinbrenner terrorized MLB in the 1970s. Back then he could overpay w/ impunity and win championships. Not anymore. Nowadays there's a whole lot more going on in evaluating the market, and correctly evaluating what you have.
Son of Frankensteinbrenner seems to be functioning in the 1970s with his "my way or the highway" attitude towards player evaluation and negotiation. As long as he has the training wheels on, the rest of the league can take advantage of him. Fine by me.
For years up here in Red Sox Nation it was always WWTYD (What Would The Yankees Do). It's kinda nice playing the Yanks rather than being played.

In the wake of his father's departure, I have a feeling that Hank is trying to talk big and fill his pop's shoes, which he is apparently incapable of doing.
While he did go back on his A-Rod commitment, given the options available to the Yanks, signing him was his best move, even though I wouldn't mind a A-Rod-less Yankees. Still, this doesn't speak well on Hank's part.
As far as his stance on Santana, I hope Hal holds up his end of the bargain. As much as we need Johan, I wouldn't give up more than Hughes, Melky, and a mid-level prospect. If it means that the Yankees suffer in the short run as these players achieve their potential, I'm willing to make this "sacrifice" for the future. But it's going to take better commitments and a few rings before anyone will take him seriously.

Well considering he said he wouldn't deal with A-Rod if he opted out of his contract I wouldn't really take him on his word...I think the Yankees would do whatever it took to make sure the Sox don't get Santana if the Twins and Sox were close to a deal...do you really think the Yankees want to see a Beckett/Santana 1-2 punch throughout the season?

I keep saying that he's going to single handedly destroy this team with his big mouth. If he's being publicly cocky, think how he treats the players. That's not going to fly with the veterans here. He's real crass and out there. He should learn to be a little professional and smooth. Hank needs to take a page out of Brian Cashman's book on how to handle the press. Better yet, take from that of Joe Torre!!! As far as his comment and its content, he's an idiot. If he were in Minnesota's shoes and were looking to get the best deal possible, you bet he'd be playing 2 rival teams against one another. That's business, the way it works!!

Steinbrenner Jr. is a joke. I think the Twins share my opinion. It is now 7:30 PM EST and I have not heard any news of anykind of trade rejection or otherwise. I hope they (Twins) don't respond at all to him.
I guess the Twins have till Tuesay night... or Wednesday or... whenever to make the decision. Deadline, what a joke.

what did the american league do earlier there replaced right into a dh rule. i've got self assurance that the dh rule went into result by using 1974. earlier that pitchers had to hit and run bases. I`m advantageous there's an excellent situation interior the nationwide league with pitchers hitting and working bases.

He seems to be a "chip off the old block" and I don't think we will see many changes from what his father would do.
