My friend keeps copying me at whatever I wear, listen to, and more. He is basically a mimic. I used to wear a derby everywhere but when he started wearing one I stopped. Also I used to have a bandana hanging out of my back pocket but now he is even doing it. It works like this with almost everything. Everyone is starting to believe Im copying him because I dont hang around people much. I want to be an individual but with this idiot as my friend I cant be whatever I want to be. I need to know a way to make him stop without damaging the friendship and without making myself look like an idiot. I like the *** kissing and all but I hate it when I hang around him. Is there a way to make him stop without me looking like an idiot and tarnishing the friendship?

It looks that your friend is a great fan of yours.He is in fact idolizing you.He takes it that whatever way you dress or appear, they are the best. He is having so much faith on your decisions that he has stopped using his own brain in these matters.
Best course for you is to ignore his mimicking.Also ignore what others say in such petty matters.

This is exactly what's happening to me! Okay, I haven't figured out what I'm going to do about it either, but I was thinking...
1. When someone mimics you, it's a good thing. That means they look up to you and like the things you do/wear. That can sometimes be an uplifter! Even though it annoys you, be greatful that what you're doing or wearing is cool =]
2. just tell him nicely! say "I know you like my style, but could you please not pick out EXACTLY the same thing as I do?"

you could get him to be interested into another style thats not like yours, you can say " dude, i think you look more of a wat wat wat kind of person, why don't you go try it "
and if he disagrees, just keep trying to persude him ot sth like that
