Point-slope form is:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)

For example:
y - 5 = 2(x - 3)

To go to slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) simply solve for y:

Start by distributing the 2 through the parentheses:
y - 5 = 2x - 6

Now add 5 to both sides:
y = 2x + 11

There you go!

Here's another example:
y + 12 = -3(x - 9)

Multiply -3 through:
y + 12 = -3x + 27

Subtract 12 from both sides:
y = -3x + 15

y=mx+b
given m=slope=2
given point (5,3) x=5, y=3
use that to find b
3=2*5+b
-7=b
now use m and b to write equation in slope-intercept form
y=2x-7
