Cars that are massed produced are equipped with parts and metals not treated for excessive heat Resistance. Specialty parts used in racing are high end heat treated for longer wear. Lubricants are also treated for heat protection. So if you race your stock "high performance" fresh from the show room car, the auto manufacturers limit the warranty. Like the commercials say in fine print, professional drivers on closed roads but don't say modified cars.

Yes~ Because your trashing the engine when you put the "pedal to the metal"
It reduces reliability by you getting a delayed gear change.
& the engine won't last as long.
But then again you got to love it when you own the car your racing with~ :p

Racing wears out your transmission and you have to floor the gas all the time. Plus the tread on the tires wears down faster. It's just cruel to the car... but I mean, look at the professional racers. They have to make pit stops all the time with their cars.

Duh.
Cars have to be built to race, and they have to be warmed up to it. you cant just go a drive the crap out of your car one day and not expect it to cause damage. just like you would need to stretch or warm up before running a 5 mile marathon, your car needs to warm up before its put to the test. unless you know what you are doing and build your car to withstand the compression and pressure and power being put on the motor and all hardware, even if its just street racing, its going to do alot of damage to your car.

If you race to win your red lining the RPM and floating your valves, speed shifting and slaming the clutch plate and stressing a stock trany. The pros often replace or rebuild their engines after every race, and they build their cars for these conditions...
So you should be able to answer this one for yourself Mario.
