I have the original sims deluxe ed and a few expansion packs. I have tried everything (including the compatability wizard) to get it to install. Now it won't even open at all. When it does open, it tells me start.exe has something wrong. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Try this
- Right Click on The Sims Deluxe icon on your desktop

- On the tabs there will be a "Compatibility" tab

- Then on it you will see Windows Xp SP 2, its uncheck.

- Turn it on, check it or "run it on" Windows Xp SP 2.

If you can't find it. Find it on the real application, because the Desktop Icon could be just the Shortcut.

Go to
- Start
- Find your Sims Folder
- Find the application or the game
- Right Click on it and check it "run it on" > Windows XP SP 2

i hope that works
