They should be eligible after the first conviction.
In fact they are. Just release them into the general population of the prison & announce what they are in for. Justice will be served very quickly on the sickos.

Personally, I think the death penalty is wrong. I mean, how is that teaching ANYBODY a lesson?! First off, it's just giving the sex offender an easy way out. I say, after three convictions, let him rot in jail the rest of his life! It's a lot harder than the death penalty. Also, (I know we aren't talking about murder) but, how do you expect a murderer to understand that what he has done is wrong, by doing to him exactly what he is being killed for? Which brings me to my next statement, sex offenders should not be eligible for the death penalty. Just like the guy above me said, yeah, I wouldn't mind, and it may be what everybody thinks he.she deserves, but it's not at all the right thing to do.

Personally I think the only people that should be sentenced to death are murderers or those who cause the deaths of others indirectly.
With sex offenders, just make them cell mates with a big, mean brute who's developed a taste for other prisoners. Then they can see how it feels to be one of their victims.

Morally? Yes, I'd have no problem with that.
Practically? Really, REALLY bad idea.
What happens when a guy molests his third little girl and she says "I'm going to tell"? He knows that if she tells he's facing a death penalty. If he kills her and hides the body, maybe he'll never get caught. So what does he do? He kills her, and he's free to look for girl 4.

I agree. I like how you think. Yes, once a sex offender has three offenses, they should be put to death. Good idea. That way we can be sure they won't get out of prison again to hurt anyone else.

3 offenses? They should be permanently locked away for the rest of their lives after the first offense. They can't be cured....
