interesting point you bring up, and I haven't heard the conspiracies say anything about that.
I think they keep saying it because it makes them sound smart, until you start questioning it, then if you do you're for Bush, a warmonger, etc.

The problem with conspiracy stories is that they get a life of their own. Rumor becomes truth, speculation becomes proof. 9/11 was such a terrible event for us that some justification, no matter how bizarre, rises to make some sense of the horror.
Many folks become fixated on it - from Jews not showing up for work to the President having a hand in it. I guess it will never end - November 22, 1963 still has conspiracy swirling around it.
And the farther we get from the event, the more these conspiracies grow. More than 70% of Americans think Kennedy was killed in some mafia/CIA hit.
Me, I think 19 Islamic nuts flew those planes into the WTC, the Penatgon and a lonely field in Pennsylvania. And Oswald shot Kennedy.

I don't think this will be a best answer, because several others have given answers that more than qualify.
Simply stated, there was no molten metal. Heat softened the steel framework of the buildings and that, plus the weight of the concrete and masonry structure was what brought the towers down.
This had been investigated and explained to my satisfaction.
19 Arab terrorists hijacked four airliners, intending to crash them into the World Trade Center and targets in Washington, D.C. This was a very well-planned attack and that is sufficienct conspiracy to satisfy me that we know very well who did it and any attempt to shift suspicion to the President or anyone other than al Qaeda is dillusional.
They keep talking about it because there are people who will listen and believe.

Exactly.
You can't find any reference at all for this fantastic claim.
To claim that "pools of molten steel" could just be sitting there, for weeks, is absurd and physically impossible. It would cool too rapidly
The reasoning, I think, is that they somehow think the liquid steel would have come from thermite. Of couse it would solidify very quickly.
Morever, the thermite theory has been thoroughly discredited; it's over.
The person who started the thermite claim, Dr Steven Jones, has been exposed as a fraud. What happened is this:
Thermite leaves behind tell-tale signs. Jones, formerly a Professor at Brigham Young Univ, claimed that tests at ground zero that proved thermite. Brighan Young Univ. suspected he was lying & put him on leave-without-pay, and then launched an investigation of his claims. He quit before they could finish. Anyway, he lost his position & it's over.
Poor ex-Professor Jones, the inventor of the thermite fiction.
===========================
Additional points:
THE STEEL WAS NOT RUSHED AWAY FROM GROUND ZERO.
Because of the absurd claim that the steel was "rushed away," how the steel was handled was investigated by “ImplosionWorld,” the leading demolition journal in the world.
It has been completely verified that the steel was not “rushed away,” and you can see the results of the investigation in Point 6 at
http://www.implosionworld.com/Article-WTC%20STUDY%208-06%20w%20clarif%20as%20of%209-8-06%20.pdf
You will find a complete description of the way the steel was handled at each step.
Also, see how NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology) analyzed the steel at:

9/11 conspiracy theorists are not concern with fact.
No matter how much fact you put in front of them, no matter how many experts you source you use or no matter if you can them to admit anything.
They will do the same weasle their way out and morph their theory to fit their reality.
I put them on the same level as those who deny the holocaust.
They must be stop and outed everytime the open their mouths.
"NEVER AGAIN" apply than it applys now.

The reason is plain and simple. The conspiracy theorists have bought into the hype story of the two kids who are only trying to make money by pointing out "facts" that don't exist.

Exactly so and one other thing they NEVER seem to include is the FACT that Bin Laden confessed on video tape he had it done.
I saw a couple of people say the rubble was trucked away quickly but the funny thing is, I remember it took about a year to get it all out and where would they have to put it if they didn't ship it off?

The metal did not have to melt only to bend and give away to the heavy mortar and brick structure to collapse. Don't worry there has been enough investigations then and by now that if there was a conspiracy the press would have got a hold of it.

Yes. I am even starting to wonder about it.
Sandy Berger stole & destroyed classified documents to protect Bill Clinton from the 9/11 Commission Investigation.
This may have saved Clinton from prison.
